MATCH WORDS AND OBJECTS LESSON PLAN

LEVEL 2

OBJECTIVE:  Developing vocabulary through object identification in www.piclits.com is fun, interactive, and engaging.  Students and users can both increase their vocabulary and hone their word choice by creating and selecting words to identify the objects in the photograph.

This will allow writers to focus on creating a list and choosing vivid nouns to identify objects.  This is the foundation of good descriptive writing.

We will learn how to “choose the right word “by using pic-lits.

MODEL OBJECT IDENTIFICATION ON A PICLIT:

In this object identification piclit, you can see that the writer has:

-chosen the right words from the noun word bank to identify key objects in the photograph,

-combined nouns “toy bear” and “rottweiler dog” to further specify the object

-developed the foundation for a description of place writing pattern
